Great breakfast done just the way I ordered it.

Best breakfast around, bar none! I love sitting at the counter watching the guys work, like a well-oiled machine. The servers have lots of personality and are top notch! Can’t wait for life to get back to some sort of normal, but we did try curbside to-go today. Super easy, super fast, may make this a weekly (at least) part of our quarantine routine!

Good selection of craft beers. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It's very cool to step in and browse the different selections of beer. There are many different types, and a lot of local beers which I love to try.

They offer an awesome range of fresh food. I loved dining here. The employees are always helpful, rates are affordable and the place is always well organised.

Food was great, good amount for the cost. It's a step through time with this classic small diner. Where regulars dine, the waitress know their names, and the waitresses are kind but will talk with sass in good humor. The only draw back to this small diner is that it's cash only but it's the price you pay for a phenomenal diner experience.

Affordable comfort food and hilarious staff. Feels like home. It's like having a meal with your sassy Aunties! My mom and I love coming here.

This place is different. One of their uniform shirts says something about giving you a hard time even though it's not on the menu. Definitely a diner atmosphere and small. Seems to be a favorite among locals. Prices are very affordable. I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. It came with hashbrowns with onions. All of it was good.

The place was small but decorated in a friendly manner. The staff is all family so you have to be used to a more family environment where if things are said openly and hope you are not easily offended. The low number of staff makes it slow on busy day but other than that it's a very open environment with a great breakfast

Always a pleasure. Great food and awesome staff. They’re not rude, just funny. Feels like home. I appreciate the atmosphere and the cash only rule. Highly recommend.

We've been going to Fred's for years and have never had a disappointing meal. The ladies working there make the place what it is! Fun! If you're looking for a nice quiet place then forget about Fred's. Always enjoyable!!

If you are looking for good food at a good price, stop in at Fred's Diner. This tiny jem is flanked by towering buildings, so drive too quickly and you'll miss it. The staff is entertaining and treat you like family.

Great food awesome prices and amazing customer service

Selfishly I want to give it one star to keep people away but I couldn't possibly! It is a tiny, tiny traditional <very old school> breakfast/ lunch counter and it is wonderful. The eggs and pancakes are perfection. They make your food right in front of you on the grill and the menu is old school diner all the way. Cash only so make sure to come prepared though the prices are super reasonable.

Great breakfast place - a staple in Grayslake. The food is very good and the staff are hard working and attentive. Big portion sizes. The owner was nice enough to give me and my father two free breakfasts on two separate occasions when we said we were moving down to South Carolina. We will certainly be back!
